The Wasabi Challenge

So what is the wasabi challenge?

The wasabi challenge involves a spoon and some wasabi, the participant has to try and eat a spoon full of wasabi without the use of any liquids to help wash it down. If you don't know what wasabi is, it is a plant that is usually ground up into a paste and used as a condiment.

Is it that simple?

If you have ever tried wasabi it was probably in a small proportion compared to the food you were eating it with, which is for a very good reason. Wasabi is very hot, and if eaten alone in a large amount will have you reaching for water. Depending on how good you are with hot foods you can up the amount to see who can eat the most wasabi in one go or race to see who can get it down first.

Personal Experience

I haven't tried this challenge myself only because having had wasabi before at a Japanese restaurant, even with food it was too much to handle for me. I think if I was to try this challenge I would not last long before my mouth would start burning and my face would turn bright red.

Raw Onion Challenge

Source: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/u4tWcGc6jJk/maxresdefault.jpg

So what is the raw onion challenge?

This challenge is pretty self explanatory, the participant has to eat a whole raw onion. Depending on how daring you are, you can either choose to peel the onion or leave the skin on, I would recommend peeling it.

Is it that simple?

No, this challenge is very basic in theory, but when you think about it no on really likes raw uncooked onion and this challenge makes you finish an entire one. You can choose to just try and finish an onion, or if you are in a group you can time everyone and see who can get the fastest time. You can also limit yourself by choosing whether or not you can have any liquids to wash the onion and its flavor down.

Personal Experience

I have never tried this challenge myself, but from reading and watching others experience this challenge it is not a pleasant one. This challenge will have you crying before the end.

Pickle Challenge

source: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Hc73W4jR84o/maxresdefault.jpg

So what is the Pickle Challenge?

The Pickle Challenge can be done solo or by competing against a group of friends. Essentially, the way this challenge is completed is to eat all pickles in a jar and drink all the juice in one sitting, without throwing up.

Is it that simple?

It is simple to eat pickles if that's your favorite snack, but for those who despise this fruit/vegetable, it pose to be a greater challenge than initially  thought.

Risks of the Challenge

Eating the pickles and drinking its juice too quickly may cause a digestive upset, bloating, high blood pressure and an increase in kidney workload.

Personal Experience

I have never tried this challenge or dare to try as the very thought of pickles chills my spine, pickles should be sliced up used in burgers only, not eaten on its own   ðŸ˜‚

Cheap Vs Expensive Challenge

Source:https://i.ytimg.com/vi/gMSb0EJWLXE/hqdefault.jpg
What is this Challenge?

This challenge will test out if ur palate can tell the difference between expensive and cheap food products. This challenge can be tried with all sorts of different food products as long as there is a cheap and expensive option to it.

Rules?
The rules are simple, 1 contestant will be the judge and select different kinds of food items with a cheap and expensive alternative. For example the judge may pick different dips, home brand version and a branded version dip. The other participants will be blindfolded and given a taste test of each item where they will have to guess which is the cheaper item and which is more expensive.
Participants with the most correct guesses will be declared the winner.

A few example of food products may include cheese, chocolate, dips, chips, drinks, biscuits or candy.

This challenge really tests your taste of food products due to tastes being similar.

What is this challenge?

This challenge requires a minimum of 3 participants, where 1 participant selects various kinds of foods for the other participants to guess. The participants guessing the food will have their eyes covered with a blindfold and also have their nose covered with a peg. Participants guessing will have to guess what food is being tasted and felt.
Participants will be surprised on how difficult this challenge this will be, without the sense of smell or sight.

Food examples

Any type of foods can be used for this challenge however some various kinds of foods that can be difficult for people are different type of cheeses, various herbs, meats, beverages and other types of lollies or chocolates.

Past experience
Haven't personally attempted this challenge but relying on taste without sight and smell can be very complicated and confusing for participants.

The Oreo challenge

source: http://www.toptenz.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/oreo-challenge.jpg

The Oreo Challenge is a age old classic and I remember doing this one as a kid. It is a challenge that you would find at nearly all youth activities, birthdays, school camps or just with friends. Unlike most other food challengers this one doesn't involve pigging out or seeing how much you can fit in your mouth. All it requires you to do is sacrifice your pride and dignity in the name or silliness!

The contestants must place a single oreo in the centre of their forehead and use small wiggles and slight shakes or if head banging works for you go for it, you just have to move it down your face to your mouth. Its a race so who every chomps it first wins!

The Flour Challenge

source: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/0XfszSyru5o/maxresdefault.jpg

So what is The Flour Challenge?

The Flour Challenge is very similar to The Cinnamon Challenge however instead of trying to swallow a spoonful of cinnamon, the goal is to swallow a spoonful of flour with no other food or drink (this includes water).

Is it the simple?

Though it seems simple, the real test is whether you are capable of swallowing the flour on its own.

Risks of the challenge

Much like the cinnamon challenge the same risk of choking and inhaling the flour into your lungs are equally dangerous and should be done with extreme caution. Always have a bottle of water with you and a friend in case if anything goes wrong.

Personal experience

At first I thought this would be a fun and exciting challenge and less risky because, hey, its only flour right? Wrong! It felt as if a rock was in my mouth, once the flour soaked up all the moisture between my lips and my throat there was nothing i could do but sit there and look like those dummys you see at carnivals where you put the balls in their mouths. Except, I was trying to take this ball out. If not for the bottle of water I had next to me I would've surely choked on the flour. But I guess that was my fault for doing a spoon and a half   -_- . Here's a note to anyone who decides to do this challenge... When its called a challenge for a reason, don't make it harder on yourself by doing more than what is required. This I can say from experience.

Watermelon challenge

source:https://i.ytimg.com/vi/b73-Bva6EsM/maxresdefault.jpg

The Watermelon challenge is an old time favourite for kids activities. All it involves is watermelon and someone with their hands tied behind their back and all you can use is your mouth! The size of the piece of watermelon can vary on the size of the contestants.

These are two ways to do this challenge. One is a race against time. When the officiator says go you have to eat as much of the watermelon as you can before a one minute timer goes off. This one is usually done with a whole watermelon. The second way to play is a race against friends. At the word go you shove your face into that watermelon and forget all dignity as you chow down to win!

Be sure to record this one 😂
